Ending the quarter with reflection

One of the key elements underpinning digital and innovation methodology is an unwavering focus on learning: about what is needed, about what works, and what allows us to iterate and improve our solutions faster, which ultimately means greater impact.

These methods often put the responsibility for learning and evaluation within the delivery team themselves. It then becomes an important skill to be able to reflect on and assess one’s own work.

These skills are vital for digital transformation and well beyond. They enable cities to assess their own starting point and make improvements without waiting for external assessment.

This can be a big shift in the way local authorities traditionally work, and requires practice to develop the skills needed. That’s why the network will regularly reflect together, in order to deepen this practice.

We will end each quarter with a moment of shared reflection on the progress and areas for improvement, at the city- and network-level. This will include cities capturing learning with their teams using a worksheets, as well as network-events to discuss areas to improve.
